So, I just found out that some wealthy people decided to take apart five abbeys in Europe, have the stones shipped to New York, and then reassemble the pieces like a jigsaw on top of a hill on the Upper East Side.
Welcome to the Cloisters; an incredibly beautiful and equally unbelievable structure that you wouldn’t know about otherwise. I took photos in many of the rooms and would love to come back for a proper visit. For now, here’s the ones that were the most interesting (see: photographed well).
